Farm Store
This deposit is for purchase of a half pig. Pigs are processed 3-4 times a year, based on animals’ readiness for butcher. This deposit will go toward final the purchase price of your share at the time of processing.
All of our pigs are raised by rotationally grazing on pasture and supplemented with high quality non-GMO, soy-free pig feed that I have custom mixed at our local mill.
Pigs are sold at price per pound of hanging weight. The pigs processed in Winter of 2025, will be $5.25/lb. This is to be paid to Havilah Beef Company at the time of butcher. You will then be put in contact with the butcher and will give them your cut/wrap instructions. You will pay the butcher directly for your butcher fees according to your specifications. Butcher fees are paid upon pick up of your meat.
Example: hanging weight=125lbs. 125lbs. x $5.25 = $656.25 paid to Havilah Beef Company. Butcher fees: 125lbs x $1.59/lb* for cut/wrap = $198.75 + $65 kill fee = $263.75 to butcher. Total price paid of $920.00. Deposit is deducted from final balance due to Havilah Beef Co. at the time of processing.
*cut and wrap fees may be higher due to specialty meat selections such as chorizo, brats, etc.
**Deposits are non-refundable unless we fail to produce an animal due to loss or sickness.**
This deposit is for purchase of a half cow. Cows are processed quarterly or semi-annually based on animals’ readiness for butcher. This deposit will go toward the final purchase price of your share at the time of processing.
All of our beef cattle are premium Black Angus steers or Black Angus/Hereford crosses. Each animal is raised on pasture grass, rotationally grazing our pastures. For 120 days prior to butcher, we add a custom mix of barley, oats and molasses, as well as high quality alfalfa to finish them off. This creates a beautiful marbling of the meat and improves the overall flavor profile.
We do not consider this traditional grain finishing. Our cows graze on rye, barley and oat grasses in our pastures so we feel that taking the kernel from those grasses, concentrating the caloric intake, is not the same as traditional grain feeding, which is usually a blend of soy, varied by-products and synthetic additives. I work directly with a local mill to custom mix our non-GMO, finisher ration.
Cows are sold at price per pound of hanging carcass weight. This means that depending on how you choose to have your meat cut, your take home weight will be less. The cows processed in May 2025, will be $7.25/lb. This is to be paid to Havilah Beef Company at the time of butcher. You will then be put in contact with the butcher and will give them your cut/wrap instructions. You will pay the butcher directly and separately for your butcher fees according to your specifications. Butcher fees are paid upon pick up of your meat.
Example: hanging weight=350lbs. 350lbs. x $7.25 = $2,537.50 paid to Havilah Beef Company.
Butcher fees: 350lbs x $1.59/lb cut/wrap = $556.50 + $100 kill fee = $656.50 paid to the butcher.
**Deposits are non-refundable unless we fail to produce an animal due to loss or sickness.**
